Compassion Or Fashion!

When the pretty young lass,
adorning the crown,
Spoke of compassion in every
verb, adverb and noun,

Was it compassion or fashion?
Or compassion as a fashion?

* * * * *
When the prince sat with the poor,
The flashbulbs clicked, he made sure;
When he ate from their plate,
a crowd was arranged to watch from the gate,

Was it compassion or fashion?
Or compassion as a fashion?

* * * * *
They tweeted and blogged,
About the downtrodden and robbed,
For some likes and votes,
And some appreciating quotes,

Was it compassion or fashion?
Or compassion as a fashion?

* * * * *
The marathon they ran this week,
In white caps and T-shirts so sleek,
For the abandoned and weak,

Was it compassion or fashion?
Or compassion as a fashion?

* * * * *

She wore a sari as fair as her heart,
In her hands, played God’s art,
When she touched souls and loved them here,
The compassion said, "You are me, oh dear! ”
